Anniversary Morning at the Temple

Saturday we got up very early and headed to the Temple. We are also celebrating our temple sealing date on June 23rd that we call our Family Anniversary, so of course this was a big part of the day for us. The Oakland Temple is a sacred place for us as it is the place we were sealed to each other and our children 29 years ago and it is also the place where we were together with each member of our family when Laura and Robert were married. There has been no more perfect day for us than to sit in the sealing room with each of our children and their eternal spouses on December 27, 1997.

Everything is so Lush and Green

The Beautiful Fountain

After our temple session we went to San Francisco. We both love San Francisco so much. We lived there the first two years of our marriage and we love it now even more than we did then. The City is always exciting and so full of life where ever you turn. We lived out in the Avenues right next to Golden Gate Park and here is our apartment building at 1250 19th Avenue. Our rent here was $135.00 per month ~ a real stretch in those days! Our building is the gray one in the middle.

The Apartment~
It was a tiny one bedroom and not too posh but we painted the whole thing before we moved in and made it fancy! We loved our first home! One of the things we truly loved was to open the windows in the morning and hear the sounds of City life all around us.

The neighborhood has changed so much but this little Deli and mom and pop store where we bought a lot of things is still there! It's still Handy's! It is just a half a block away from our apartment on Irving Street.

Another Irving Street favorite of Jim's
Progress Hardware still going strong!

Our first fabulous backyard~Golden Gate Park!
We took and still take many lovely walks here!
We've been spoiled since the beginning in this department.
