Going Green

I saw this article yesterday about getting the greenest grass possible. Organic grass would be great but today I think I saw something even more green in every respect. Does not require anything but big bucks!

Faux Grass, Anyone?

This is the lawn of the house we are staging tomorrow.

This does not require water, fertilizer, aerating , auto sprinkler system, nagging hubby to mow and edge, or paying the neighbor kid, no crab grass, no dandelions, no bees, no weekly maintenance hassles and no big brown spots.

Now I know some of you are saying but what about the fresh scent of cut grass, the grass between your toes and all that. I say, get some comfy slippers and light a grass scented candle. I don't plan to be frolicking in the grass any time soon so this grass is my idea of going green!

Actually we do not have a blade of grass on our property. If you are stuck with the real thing~check out the article above!

This is my 270th post since I began blogging in December 2007. I think it calls for a free give-away. I have no idea what it is yet but something fun for your house! Make a comment for a chance to win the mystery prize. I will draw the winner in one week. Go for it ladies!

I Love Prizes!!! That faux looks like it would be perfect in Ft McMurray.

Wow!! Sign me up for some faux grass. I saw that they came out with vinyl mulch this year too. Also expensive but never having to replace it might be worth it!

Um, YA! I am so down for actually winning something! LOL!!
I love that fake grass, they should give it away though, because we looked into it and it is CRAZY expensive! LOL!!!

Ok, I want in...
So actually the faux lawn is making me think that there are some great spin-off business opp.s here...faux 'grass stain' pens...orderless, (yet realistic looking) 'dog-poo'... rubber 'dandelions' ...spray on 'brown spots'... Saturday morning 'lawn-mower' sound effects with or with/out that 'fresh-cut-grass-smell' (sold separately) ...'rent-a-gopher' dirt piles and mounds...and last but not least 'spray-on-morning-dew

Now, the real question is...will I really get the "Grand Prize" should MY name be drawn at random given my intimate relationship with the post-master of this Blog. We will see!

Can I enter more than once? I REALLY want to win. Pick me...pick me...pick me.

Actually what I could really go for is some of that faux grass. Mine is making me nuts. Not only because I am the only one ever around to care for it but because it is all dry and weedy. I love dad's business ideas. I'll take the faux grass with the rub on grass stain pen (for sentimental reasons) and the Saturday morning "lawn mower" sound affect CD.

I went to a party and the homeowners had faux grass. It took a while for me to understand what was going on. Faux fur... Faux hawk... Faux grass??!?

Oh, - I love contests! I am in Seattle right now where everything is green year round--beautiful. However, on Ceemar, my house is now the one that everyone looks at and thinks, "how sad that the owner doesn't take pride in the trees and shubbery." I would love the faux lawn (Andy, too, since he's the one who comes over to mow, edge, and feed them). However, I draw the line at plastic fencing. One of my worries is that if we all go faux, will it soon be like everyone's teeth--perfectly lined up and whiter than natural? What do you think? I still want to win the prize. Thanks for thinking of it, Bon-bon. Love you. B

Can you come and make my home into a craftsman style home? (I wish it were that easy:)...)
I am impressed with you work.
I think I'll skip out on the faux grass...well maybe I'll take it in the winter.

Brooke you are right, of course. We have enough fake stuff surrounding us but just think of the liberating qualities~that part I love. Thanks for joining in, I recognize you from Jen's blog.

Yes, love the faux grass! And while we're at it...how about a few faux trees with some faux squirrels that my crazy barking chihuahuas can actually catch up to! Good times....

Love ya, Bon!

Green grass all year round...hmmm...pinch me, am I dreaming? I want it! If only it didn't take something green to get it in the first place.

I hope I win the prize....

I like the idea of no upkeep! But, I also like walking in the grass barefoot. Hmmm...maybe I'll have to walk in it to decide.

Hi Love. WOW 22 Comments. This is #3 for me... Is there a prize for 'most entries'?

Bonnie said...

No triple comments do not get triple entries but if you get Michelle from work to comment she could win a prize and you could get a double entry.

My cousin lives in Las Vegas andhe has faux grass...he said most do out there b/c the heat makes it impossible to grow the real stuff. I am new to your blog, but I'll get back....I am decorating challenged and my house is looking sad....I'm hoping reading your blog will somehow rub off on me :) I am wondering if the longest comment will up my chances for winning....just kidding (and I did not just say all that to make my comment longer--and it just keeps growing and growing).
