Woman of Strength

You know how you go to special events and you hear something you really like that someone quotes? If you are lucky you get a handout with the words printed out for you to take home. Then what? For me, it kicks round the house for awhile on my desk and eventually I throw it away because you just cannot file everything that strikes a cord with you when you hear it. I have tried topical filing, stashing things in my scripture case, etc. but over the past 30 years of church membership most handouts have gone by the wayside. But along comes blogging and my problem is solved. Now when I heard something I really like~I put it here. I can share it and keep it but throw the paper away. The best of both worlds has arrived!

In March of each year our church celebrates the beginning of our women's organization, Relief Society, with a birthday dinner and program. This wonderful quote was shared by my sweet friend, Donna, and I really thought it was great. So here it is, I hope you like it too.

A Woman of Strength

"A strong woman works out everyday to keep her body in good shape...but a woman of strength kneels in prayer to keep her soul in shape.

A strong woman isn't afraid of anything...but a woman of strength shows courage in the midst of her fears. A strong woman won't let anyone get the best of her...but a woman of strength give the best of her to everyone.

A strong woman makes mistakes and avoids the same in the future...but a woman of strength realizes life's mistakes can also bring God's blessings and capitalizes on them.

A strong woman walks sure footedly...but a woman of strength knows God will catch her when she falls.

A strong woman has faith that she is strong enough for the journey...but the woman of strength has faith that it is in the journey that she will become strong."

How do you hang on to things that resonate with your spirit?

Hi Bon!
Hope you are doing great!

I'm going to have to make a copy of this post. I was reading it and then my friend Mairead called and I read it to her and she wants a copy of it too....she's going to have to file it as she has no computer. Can you believe that she gave up her computer? She refuses to get on one now. I'm still flabbergasted and perplexed!!! LOL!

Love,
Deanna :D

Thanks for this wonderful representation of a woman. I preferred a "woman of strength give the best of her to everyone".
