When it Rains, It Pours!

Today the kids are out of school. Their fall break lasts until Monday morning of next week. I didn't realize there was a fall break, but apparently here in Utah...there is! So we thought first thing this morning we'd take the kids to get their...

You can imagine how popular we were with each of them. I have to say that I really can see why the flu runs rampant after just a short stay in the waiting room of the pediatric group where we went. The place might as well have some signage on the door that reads, "Welcome to our Hot Bed of Infection." They had a gillion little kids in there and the ones wearing the masks apparently had the Swine Flu. We immediately walked out and stayed in the hallway where hopefully there was some safe air. This is more than disconcerting when you walk in with four healthy kids but when you walk in with one with the problems that Hazie has, it is downright maddening! They need to have a designated space for the sick ones.

We were lucky because they did get us in and out in a hurry. The shots went well. The bigger girls did fine the little ones reacted as one would expect. Hazel could not feel her shot but she cried hard anyway. She knows she is in the doctor's office and never knows what to expect there, but she knows it isn't good!

We left the office and went down to leave and found this...

It was pouring down rain and we waited an hour and 15 minutes for road side service. We had fun though just sat in the car after someone came through the lobby where we were waiting with another Swine flu kid.

After being at the medical center for 3 hours everyone was starving. We went for a late lunch at the Trolley. This photo is from last summer...it was too wet and yucky out to take any pics today.

Now I am home with the kids and Jen is off trying to get a new tire or two. It has just been one of those days. I am glad I was here to help Jen through it all.

I'm trying to decide whether to laugh or cry. What a nice spin for such a trying day!
I always thought the time off in the fall was for any winterizing farms or deer hunting. Growing up in a farm community we always did one or the other. In a plastic package at the grocery store society I don't know what the holiday is for - we only got a day or two at Easter time. Do they get more time now?

What an exhausting trip. I've been missing your blogs. For some reason, it wasn't opening up for me, but today it did. I didn't realize Jen had four girls. She must have her hands full and wow - what a lot of estrogen in that household! Looks like you are making the most of your trip to visit with your family. What fun for them.
